Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): KpnI--17.5, 10.0 (doublet), 4.9, 3.9, 1.5; PvuI--23.0, 13.0, 8.0; SacI--20.0, 9.0, 6.0, 4.7, 4.4, 1.5, 1.1; XbaI--20.0, 19.0, 9.0; XhoI--20.0, 16.0, 9.0, 2.3. The insert contains the following restriction sites (kb from the 5' end): SacI--0.6, 0.8, 7.0, 8.6, 13.1, 17.7, 18.8 (linker). Contains the genes in the germ line configuration, beginning about 9 kb upstream of pseudogene Vgamma1 and ending just after Vgamma3. The insert extends 5.6 kb further in the 5' direction and is 1.3 kb shorter at the 3' end than the insert in lambdaSH2, and extends 1.3 kb further in the 5' and is 0.2 kb shorter at the 3' end than lambdaSH4.
