Although HH cells lack the alpha chain of the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R alpha), they do possess a functional p70 beta chain (IL-2R beta) of the IL-2 receptor complex.
A culture submitted to the ATCC in June of 1992 was found to be contaminated with mycoplasma, and was cured by treatment with Ciprofloxacin. |

The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.

| Subculturing |
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 x 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 x 105 and 1 x 106 cells/mL.

HH is a mature T cell line derived in 1986 from peripheral blood of a patient with aggressive cutaneous T cell leukemia/lymphoma. The line was established from blood taken after extensive chemotherapy.
