| Applications |
The antibody is specific for the alpha subunit of farnesyltransferase in cultured mammalian cells. It is useful for studying the presence of the alpha subunit of farnesyltransferase in cell extraxcts. This antibody may be used as a control for the diagnostic test for choroideremia (CHM), an X-linked form of retinal degeneration, by immunoblot analysis (see ATCC CRL-2419). |

| Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

| Subculturing |
Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh Medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 to 2 x 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cultures at a cell concentration between 5 x 104 and 5 x 105cells/mL. Do not allow the cell concentration to exceed 5 x 105 cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (as cell density increases).
