Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7; BamHI--3.0, PstI--3.0; HindIII--3.0; SmaI--3.0. An EcoRI digest analyzed on a 6% acrylamide gel revealed a 0.08 kb band. This is specific to human myosin light chain 3 mRNA and detects a mRNA of 850 nt in human fast muscle fibers. There is no cross-hybridization to other species. The clone contains 3 inserts of 0.08 kb each. |
